『森が教えてくれた幾何学』紙書籍版を刊行しました
2026年10月3日、著書『森が教えてくれた幾何学 / The Geometry the Forest Taught Me』の紙書籍版を刊行しました。
本書は、自然を観察し、作品をつくり続ける中で、私の視点がどのように変化してきたのかを辿ったアーティストブックです。
はじめに見ていたのは、森の木々や葉脈、光と影など、自然の中に現れるさまざまな形でした。しかし観察を重ねるうちに、私の関心は次第に、目に見える形そのものから、その形を生み出している目には見えない生命の構造へと向かうようになりました。
自然の形は、ただそこに存在しているのではなく、生まれ、成長し、変化していく過程の中で現れます。その背後には、目で直接捉えることのできない秩序や働きがあります。
私の作品は、自然の姿をそのまま再現するものではありません。目に見える世界の背後にある構造を、どのように目に見えるものとして表すことができるのか。その探究を続ける中で、幾何学は、私にとって不可視の構造を可視化するための重要な言語となっていきました。
本書では、こうした自然観察から現在の「幾何学刺繍＋墨アート」へと至るまでの思考と制作の過程を、《Samsara Forest（サムサラの森）》や《Arachne（アラクネ）》などの作品、写真、文章とともに収録しています。
先に刊行した電子版と同様、前半を日本語、後半を英語で構成した日英二言語版です。全300ページをプレミアムカラーで印刷し、作品の細部や写真、ページの連なりを、紙の本として手に取ってご覧いただける一冊となりました。
本という形にまとめる作業もまた、私にとっては制作の延長にあるものでした。
自然を見ることから始まり、その背後にあるものを考え、それを作品として表現し、さらに一冊の本として構成する。その長い過程を経て、今回、紙の本として完成しました。
ページをめくりながら、目に見える自然の形から、その背後にある生命の構造へと私の視点が移っていった過程と、そこから生まれた作品をご覧いただければ幸いです。

Paperback Edition of The Geometry the Forest Taught Me Published
On October 3, 2026, I published the paperback edition of my book, The Geometry the Forest Taught Me.
This artist book traces how my way of seeing has changed through years of observing nature and creating art.
At first, my attention was drawn to the forms that appear in nature—trees and leaf veins, light and shadow. Through continued observation, however, my interest gradually shifted from visible forms themselves toward the invisible structures of life that give rise to them.
Forms in nature do not simply exist as fixed appearances. They emerge through processes of birth, growth, and transformation. Behind them are underlying orders and processes that cannot be directly seen.
My work does not seek to reproduce nature as it appears. Instead, I explore how the structures behind the visible world might be made visible. Through this exploration, geometry has become an important language through which I give visible form to what cannot be directly seen.
The book brings together this journey from observing nature to my current practice of Geometric Embroidery + Sumi Ink Art through texts, photographs, and works including Samsara Forest and Arachne.
Like the previously published digital edition, the book is bilingual, with the first half in Japanese and the second half in English. The 300-page paperback is printed in premium color, allowing the details of the works, photographs, and the sequence of the pages to be experienced in the physical form of a book.
Bringing these elements together in the form of a book was also, for me, an extension of my artistic practice.
Beginning with observing nature, then considering what lies behind what we see, expressing these ideas through my work, and finally bringing them together into a single volume—the book has taken physical form through this long process.
I hope that, as you turn the pages, you will follow the shift in my perspective from the visible forms of nature toward the structures of life that lie behind them, and discover the works that have emerged from this exploration.
