Nihonga（Japanese Style Painting) | 日本画

Asami Goto is inspired by the spirituality of Buddhist art, exploring invisible presences and subtle traces that exist beyond form.
Using kumohadamashi paper, mineral pigments, gofun, sumi ink, and gold and silver leaf, she expresses the quiet transitions of light and shadow, revealing the subtle atmospheres residing within nature and life.
Guided by the theme of “turning one’s gaze toward the unseen,” she continues to create works deeply rooted in traditional Japanese painting materials while interweaving a contemporary sensibility.

五島アサミは、仏教美術の精神性に触発され、形を超えた見えない気配や、微細な存在感を探求している。
雲肌麻紙に岩絵具、胡粉、墨、金銀箔を用い、光と影の静かな移ろいを通して、自然や生命に宿る気配を描き出す。
「見えないものへ視線を向ける」というテーマのもと、日本の伝統的な絵画材料に深く根ざしながら、現代的な感性を織り交ぜた制作を続けている。
