Geometric Embroidery + Sumi Ink Art

Geometric Embroidery + Sumi Ink Art is an original technique created by artist Asami GOTO.

By combining the structured precision of geometric embroidery with the fluid qualities of sumi ink, the technique expresses the hidden order and rhythms found in nature.

The layered threads and diffused ink are inspired by branching plant forms, crystalline mineral structures, and geometric patterns created by sound vibrations, reflecting the rhythms and relationships that exist throughout the natural world.

Rooted in both textile art and Nihonga, the technique incorporates thread, sumi ink, gold and silver pigments, vermilion pigment, and gold and silver leaf. The balance between geometric order and organic movement creates works with a quiet sense of depth.

Rather than focusing on decoration alone, the technique seeks to express the invisible relationships and rhythms that underlie nature.

幾何学刺繍＋墨アート

幾何学刺繍＋墨アートは、五島アサミによって創案された独自の技法です。

幾何学的な刺繍の構造と墨の流動的な表現を組み合わせることで、自然界に見られる秩序やリズムを、一つの画面の中に表現しています。

刺繍による線の積層と墨のにじみや広がりは、枝分かれする植物の形態や鉱物の結晶、音の振動によって生まれる幾何学的なパターンなど、自然現象から着想を得ています。

この技法は、テキスタイルアートと日本画の両方に根ざしており、糸、墨、金銀泥、朱色顔料、金銀箔などの素材によって構成されています。幾何学的な秩序と有機的な流れが重なり合うことで、静かな奥行きのある画面が生まれます。

装飾性だけを目的とするのではなく、自然の中に息づく見えない関係性やリズムを表現することを目指しています。
