Before the Forest Emerges I & II depicts a stage before the forest fully appears as a forest.

Life has not yet taken on a distinct form, drifting instead as light, traces, and subtle presences. This work explores a state before the forest emerges as a forest—a realm where the first signs of life and the unseen forces of becoming quietly begin to take shape.

In Before the Forest Emerges I, traces of light, sumi ink, and geometric structures gradually emerge across the surface. The forest has not yet assumed its completed form, lingering between presence and absence.

In Before the Forest Emerges II, the first trace appears at the center of the work. It is the nucleus of a forest not yet formed—the earliest sign of the forest beginning to take shape.

Through layers of geometric embroidery, sumi ink, gold pigment, and gold leaf, organic textures and structural forms slowly emerge from within the void.

《光を孕む虚林 Ⅰ・Ⅱ》は、森がまだ森として現れる以前の段階を描いた作品です。

生命はまだ明確な形を持たず、光や痕跡、気配として漂っています。本作は、森が森として姿を現す以前の状態――形になる前の生命の兆しや、目には見えない生成の気配を探る試みです。

《光を孕む虚林 Ⅰ》では、光の痕跡、墨、そして幾何学的な構造が、画面の中にゆるやかに立ち現れます。森はまだ完成された姿を持たず、出現と不在のあいだを漂っています。

《光を孕む虚林 Ⅱ》では、作品の中心に最初の痕跡が現れます。それは、まだ形を持たない虚林の核であり、森が姿を帯びるための最初の兆しです。

幾何学刺繍、墨、金泥、金箔の重なりの中から、有機的な質感と構造的なかたちがゆるやかに浮かび上がり、虚ろな森は少しずつその姿を現していきます。

Ⅰは完成していますが、Ⅱは現在も制作が続いています。
